Find Community + Make Disciples
When we belong to the Church we belong to each other.
At Vertical, we believe that the church is defined as a group of people following Jesus into community and out on to mission. At Vertical Church we believe that following Jesus means we are called into fellowship with other believers. Missional Communities and Discipleship Groups are the way that we as a family (that is, a church family united in our association with Jesus) organize together to live out community life together and to pursue the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) together. Missional Communities have three basic components
Missional Community Groups
1. Missional Communities Missional Communities contain up to 25 people (couples, singles, families with kids, etc.) who come together once every week to worship, sometimes share a meal and always unpack Scripture together. All of our Missional Communities have a common curriculum that aligns with and complements what is being taught at our worship gatherings on Sunday mornings
Discipleship Groups
A D-Group is a gender-specific closed group of 3 to 5 believers (including the leader) who meet together weekly for the purpose of accelerated spiritual transformation and accountability led by a group leader.
A D-Group consists of believers who desire a deeper walk with Christ. It is not evangelistic in its form or function, but in its fruit: It makes disciples who will then go on to make more disciples.

Local Community Partnership
Missional Communities are the vehicle by which Vertical Church serves our neighbors, meets needs around us, and is mobilized to carry the Gospel into every corner of our cities. Each Missional Community has chosen one or more specific local partnership or project to pursue with Gospel intentionality. Together, they plan, organize and carry out a project in that vein once every three months.
